• Analyze the mechanics of safe infant swallowing include muscle actions and innervations involved.
• Critique the patterns of sucking on bottle vs breast.
• Compare various bottle systems and their impact on infant sucking and latching in infant populations.
• Evaluate the mechanisms of bottle pressure systems for individualized bottle selection.
• Choose bottle systems based on individual infant needs.
• Manage sensory roadblocks to bottle feeding in various infant populations.
• Examine the use of thickening agents and understand appropriate usage.
• Modify infant feeding schedules in favor of infant development.

Meet Our Presenter:

Anna Giannobile Dearman, MBA, MOT, LOTR, CLC, CST, IBCLC attended Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans and graduated in 2012 with a Master of Occupational Therapy. Anna is a Feed the Peds and TOTs trained therapist. She also holds the Tethered Oral Tissues and Therapeutic Bottle Feeding Badges offered by the Lactation OT. She has her own private practice, Prosper Therapy and Feeding Solutions, located in Monroe, LA, that services northeast and central Louisiana. She has provided successful feeding therapy intervention to hundreds of families in her area.
